Financial Support: 16–19 Bursary Fund
At Trinity Catholic High School, we are committed to ensuring that every student has equal access to the opportunities that will help them thrive and succeed in our Sixth Form.
The 16–19 Bursary Fund is a government-funded scheme that provides financial support to help eligible students overcome specific barriers to participation. It can assist with essential costs such as travel, equipment, textbooks, school clothing in line with our dress code, and university-related expenses including open days and application fees.
There are two types of bursaries available:
1. Bursaries for defined vulnerable groups – for students who meet national criteria and have a clear financial need.
2. Discretionary bursaries – for students facing financial hardship, typically where total household income does not exceed £25,000 and/or they are in receipt of means-tested benefits and can demonstrate genuine financial need.
Students who do not meet these criteria but can demonstrate financial hardship due to other circumstances may also apply for a discretionary bursary.
We understand that circumstances vary and can change. All applications are assessed fairly and compassionately, based on individual need.
Please read the full 16–19 Bursary Policy below for detailed eligibility criteria, application guidance, and deadlines.
Applications for 2025–2026 should be submitted via our online platform.
The level of support offered depends on the total funding received and the number of applications submitted. Please note that funding levels may vary during the academic year.
We are here to support you every step of the way. If you have any questions or need assistance with the application process, please contact the Director of Sixth Form.
