Financial Support: 16–19 Bursary Fund

At Trinity Catholic High School, we are committed to ensuring that every student has equal access to the opportunities that will help them thrive and succeed in our Sixth Form.

The 16–19 Bursary Fund is a government-funded scheme that provides financial support to help eligible students overcome specific barriers to participation. It is intended to help with essential costs such as travel, equipment, textbooks, clothing in line with our dress code, and university-related expenses like open days or application fees.

There are two types of bursaries available:

Bursaries for defined vulnerable groups – for students who meet national criteria and have a clear financial need.

Discretionary bursaries – for students facing financial hardship, typically where household income is below Β£25,000 per year.

We understand that circumstances vary and can change. All applications are assessed fairly and compassionately, based on individual need.

Please read the full 16–19 Bursary Policy below for detailed eligibility criteria, application guidance, and deadlines.

Applications for 2025–2026 should be submitted via our new online platform by 30 September 2025, though the application window will remain open throughout the school year to accommodate changes in personal circumstances.Β

Support is available every step of the way. If you have any questions or would like assistance with the process, please don’t hesitate to contact the Director of Sixth Form.Β

The platform for 2025-2026 will be open in September.
